Q. How do I register?
A. Soon you can register online, but if you just can't wait, you can download a registration, print, fill it out and send it in. You can also register over the phone.

Q. What can I expect in a week of camp?
A. You can expect to have a lot of fun doing new things, hanging out with old and new friends, and having a great time away from all the pressures of home. You can expect to have a counselor that cares about you and great lessons from God's Word that can change your life forever.

Q. What should I bring to camp?
A. You will need a Bible, something to write with, a pillow, sleeping bag or sheets for a twin bed, swimwear, toiletries, towels, casual clothes, and spending money ($20-$30 sugg.) for snack shack, crafts, camp shirts, and paintball.

Q. What should I leave home?
A. You need to leave your CDs, Mp3 player, cell phone, electronic games, fireworks, silly string, and extra shaving cream at home. There are no weapons, cigarettes, alcohol, illegal drugs, trashy magazines, or crude T-shirts allowed on campus for any reason.

Q. Why can't I use my cell phone or iPod during camp?
A. Its all a matter of focus. When you come, we want you to enjoy the friendships and experiences of camp instead of being buried in your music or talking on the phone. Most people go through the week and don't even realize they missed 'em.

Q. Are there alligators in the lake?
A. Anybody who lives in Florida can tell you, where there is water, there are gators. We have a healthy relationship with our department of wildlife who faithfully removes an alligator after a sighting. We take special measures to keep all swimming in a contained area, and there is no swimming during dangerous times such as dusk and dawn. There are no night swims.

Q. Who will be supervising my child?
A. The summer program is staffed by ministry-minded college students who demonstrate maturity, competence, and leadership ability. Each counselor goes through a rigorous screening process which involves background checks and secondary character references. In addition to these measures, no counselor is hired without a personal reccommend-ation from their local church pastor. All staff go through an intense ten-day training program and are directly responsible to the program director who works closely with the Executive Director in all staff matters.

Q. Are there medical facilities nearby?
A. Camp Sparta's location is approxomately 3 miles from Highlands Regional Medical Center, and Florida Hospital is just 10 minutes away.

A. Lake Huckleberry is 118 acres of natural Florida freshwater.

Q. How many acres is the camp?
A. There is plenty of room to move around on 35 acres.

Q. Will my group be supervised when we are at camp?
A. A full-time camp staff member will be on the campsite and available at all times. It is best that you or your leaders be with your group at all times. The full-time staff is here to supervise activities and be available for questions.
