Every summer, every retreat, every building, every brochure, every game, every song, and every voice that is a part of Camp Sparta serves one goal: to bring glory to God, our Creator and Sustainer.
 
 
Christ instituted the church. He led them and prepared them and the Holy Spirit ignited them. Camp Sparta does not seek to out-shine local churches or be a substitute for local churches. We want to be a tool, humble and readily available to assist local churches in their pursuit of the Savior. We want to be a tool that Pastors can use to refocus themselves and their family. A tool that student pastors can use to reinforce the truth they have taught all year. A tool that can bring together a church family in sweet Christian fellowship. A tool that can direct new young believers into strong Biblical ministries state-wide. Churches are our focus.
 
 
Camp isn't just for kids anymore. Men, women, young adults, college students, seniors, parents, pastors, teachers... all of these have opportunities to see God's power change their lives through camp ministry. Methods and programs may be different, but camp ministers to the whole person at any stage of life.
 
What other truth is there? What other truth is God breathed and preserved through the ages? What other truth shares the heart of God and His plan to redeem His children? There is none other. God's power is communicated through His written Word and as such it is central to everything we do.
 
The word effective is important. There are many camps. There are many camp ministries. We pray that Camp Sparta would be used by God effectively in the lives of people; that we could all stand and say, “This is used of God.” We pray for the wisdom to avoid wasteful efforts, vain traditions, or hollow philosophies. We strive to be the best keepers of His treasure, and the first seekers of His heart. He will do the rest.
