Jayson and Sarah have three kids, Bella, JJ and Zeke. They moved to Camp Sparta in 2020 from Philadelphia to follow God's call into camp ministry.

What do you enjoy about camp ministry?

Jayson: I love seeing campers have fun. Doing things for the first time whether it’s getting blobbed or going tubing. My true joy comes from God changing people’s lives as they surrender to Him.

Sarah: I love that my kids get to experience serving God as a lifestyle. I also love that camp creates a place where people can exhale and take time to experience God's love.

What is your favorite Camp Sparta activity?

Jayson: THE BLOB!

What is one of your favorite hobbies?

Jayson: Watching baseball

KEVIN & SARAH PALMER

Kevin - Director of Activities & Facilities

Sarah - Food Service

Kevin and Sarah have four kids, Matthew, Savannah, Emmaleigh and Ethan. Their family has been serving at Camp Sparta since 2018.

What do you enjoy about camp ministry?

Kevin: I love being with the kids, having fun with them on the lake, and serving others.

Sarah: I love being around people and talking with them and getting to know them! I also love that my children are being raised in an environment where serving others does not have to be a chore but a lifestyle.

What is your favorite Camp Sparta activity?

Kevin: Blobbing and futsal

Sarah: Lake time

What is one of your favorite hobbies?

Kevin: Playing soccer

Jose Luis - Finance & Facilities

Joleen - Chef

Jose Luis and Joleen have been serving at Camp Sparta since 2019. 

What do you enjoy about camp ministry?

Jose Luis: Interacting with people and serving them as a son of God. I truly believe that we are in this world to serve people and invite them to know God.

Joleen: My earliest camp memory is when I was 5. Camp has always been a part of my life since my parents started a camp ministry in Baja California. I love being surrounded by God's creation.

What is your favorite Camp Sparta activity?

Jose Luis: I enjoy watching each group learn about God during their chapel sessions.

Joleen: I enjoy watching them as they participate in sports, water events and team activities.

What is one of your favorite hobbies?

Jose Luis: Running and playing tennis
